I remember once I participated in an English Oral Competition, a charge asked me:
What is the most important thing to be a leader? My answer is the courage, because as a leader you have to have the courage to lead your team to complete a tough mission, also you must show remarkable courage when the team face failure.
For me, courage not only means the leadership, but also means success. When we were children, do you have the courage to begin a talk with new friend? When we were in high school, do you have the courage to ask teacher a simple question which you don’t know? When we meet someone attract us, do you have the courage to have a date with him or her? To be successful in life, you should have the characteristic of courage; it means you can get what you want from others, and you have the ability to insist on your own conviction.
Change my major from business accountant to communication is the decision which need great courage I have ever made, and I think it’s the most important decision in my life. It means I begin a bran-new life. It means I have chance to accomplish my dream, maybe it’s a more difficult way to go.
My dream is to become a director of Television Station, and I want to make the program which can make people have strong confident to get a better life. It’s not easy for me, because it’s a way full of unknowns, not only for me, but also for my family. All of my parents and my sister work in company related in finance. My life would be easier if I chose the same way with them. If I graduated from business accountant and get the CIMA certification, it means I can find a steady job more easily in a finance company and get comparable high salary just like my sister. On the other hand, the invariable work will let me lose my passion and my creativity in rest of my life. I can’t image my life without passion and creativity. So I chose change my major. It’s a challenge for me, but I believe opportunity always be side with challenge, glory live with dream. I have the courage to make the change now; it’s the first step of my success. I have the confidence that one day I will make the most popular Television program the lead many people to get a better life!
