My Love --- ESL 114

I have to say that ESL 114 is my favorite class in this semester. It seems that I can temporary escape from all the mess that full of my study and life, and it makes me feel like being at home. We can learn how to write good essay, and discuss some interesting topic without any tension and pressure. I still remember the class that we had a hot debate about legalization of euthanasia. We divided into two parties. I was in the team which supports the legalization of euthanasia. Our main force is Bek; Lucas and Wang Lan are the main force of the other party. One of our points is that euthanasia can make patient who have no chance to recover free without any pain. Surprise me! Lucas said that nobody can be sure that the euthanasia is painless, because all the people who had ever tried it are died. It’s funny! How humorous he is! I never thought that anyone can think like that way. After that the debate continued for whole class, even when the bell was ringing Wang Lan still fighting for his team. This class is still fresh in my memory. I like the good atmosphere in the class. I will miss it!

On the other hand, I like this class not only because the good atmosphere, but also because it’s such a useful class for me. I was afraid of English writing since I began to prepare for the TOEFL. I totally have no idea about how to write a good essay. I got used to write English in Chinese style, and didn’t know how to express myself methodically. Thank you Joy! ^o^ you tried your best to teach us English writing from some basic rules, like how to use formal language in writing, and how to avoiding run-on and fragment. The most useful things I think is the APA style citation. We spent lot of time on it, and I really think it’s useful. I never thought the citation is such an important issue in English writing before. I never thought the citation is that complex neither. Now I know that when we need to write all authors’ name, and when we need not etc. I will use the APA style whenever I write an English essay. Thank you Joy again! You make it clear and easy to memory.

We finished our last ESL 114 class last Friday, except the presentation classes. Thank you Joy and all guys in our class that give me such happy class this semester. You who make me learn a lot, and think a lot. Thank you guys! I will miss you!

Btw, I really admire you Joy that you are going to UCLA for your PHD degree. UCLA is my dream school! Enjoy your like there, and enjoy the sunshine! Like my blog's name, hope we can "Happy together forever!"
